Many hands (and backs) help make the Temple Garden outreach effort successful. Hands and hearts are active in everything from tilling and planting to picking and cleaning up and preparing for distribution. Garden flowers brighten the desks and tables of area nursing homes and shut-ins. Some of our flowers are made into arrangements for our sanctuary.
Fresh veggies from the Temple Garden make their way to bellies in need from West Terre Haute to Seelyville and many areas in between.
The Temple Garden is just one of the many ways we are able to reach out to those in need in our community. While satisfying physical needs is very important, satisfying spiritual needs has much greater importance. Methodist Temple continues to dream of ways to use this ministry to help people on their faith journey as we strive to “make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world”.
