Serving @ Temple

These groups are always open to including people willing to serve. If you are interested in serving in any of these capacities, please contact Pastor Chris (unless otherwise stated).

WORSHIP MINISTRIES: The worship ministries of the Temple provide an excellent opportunity for you to be involved in the worship services in many ways:

  • USHERS: Each week during our worship services we need 2-3 ushers. Ushers are scheduled to serve on a monthly rotational basis. There is plenty of room for you!
  • LITURGIST: If you read well, this is a great opportunity to lead in worship. The parts are all written for you.
  • GREETERS: Our greeters are the welcoming face of Temple, always eager to invite and welcome you into worship for each service. Since COVID, Greeters and Ushers have been combined. We would love to separate these services again, and your smile would be great at our doors!
  • ACOLYTES: The acolyte ministry helps carry the light of the Holy Spirit into our worship service and back out into the world. Traditionally, Acolytes have been children and teenagers, but there are no age limits for this service.

PRAYER CHAIN: The Temple family shares our prayer concerns and joys through an email prayer chain.  If you are a member of this team, you can email the group at [email protected]. If you would like to join the prayer team, contact the office at [email protected] or 812-299-1898. If you would like to submit a prayer request, please use our Connection Card.

AUDIO/VISUAL MINISTRY: The audio/visual team helps everyone worship together by balancing the sound and bringing us visual worship elements on the projection screen. We also use a multi-camera setup to live stream worship services.

  • Sound tech
  • Worship slide creator
  • Video tech

We will train for any of these areas of service. If you are a person who enjoys using technology, this could be the ministry for you.

MEMBER CARE MINISTRIES: Member Care reaches a vast area of the Church. We assemble welcome bags for guests, send greeting cards to members, visit shut-ins, and more. Your hands and heart would be a welcome addition to this team.
